Ultra-Light Helicopter Pilot Training Course

ROTOR F/X is pleased to announce a one of a kind flight training package specifically for ultralight helicopter owners and builders. Although no pilot license or medical is required for this category, professional flight training is dictated by necessity and common sense. For this purpose we have designed a modified version of our private pilot helicopter course specifically for your requirements.

This unique program available exclusively at ROTOR F/X is focused on your goal of receiving basic flight training and becoming a safe and competent pilot in your ultralight helicopter. You will learn:

• hovering
• pedal turns
• pickups and setdowns
• hovering autos
• quick stops

This ultralight course provides 10 hours of concentrated dual "flight only" time giving you the maximum exposure to the knowledge and motor skills you need to begin building your competency. You may of course take more than 10 hours in this session at the same rate and even continue on towards your private or recreational helicopter license. You will fly and log dual time in our Schweizer with a professional instructor and return home with a solid training foundation in place.

Depending on your individual capacity to absorb and learn, the course can be completed in three days but you may take four or five if you feel more comfortable with a slower pace.

This is exceptionally low priced dual training and your training hours can count towards future ratings. Professional training is a minimum requirement from several manufacturers. Mosquito helicopters allows a purchase discount of $2000 with proof of a minimum of 10 hours dual helicopter instruction.

Training at Van Nuys is a very unique experience. Helicopter traffic is so prevalent we have our own tower frequency at 119.0 and we house operations for dozens of helicopters including news, fire, police, sheriff, highway patrol, fire fighting, training, movies, charter, and corporate. You will see almost every variety of helicopter from light trainer to the giant Ericsson Skycrane. Experience in this environment will prepare you for anything.
