Mountain flying is one of the most enjoyable adventures you can have as a pilot. However, safely navigating rugged terrain requires specialized training.
To be eligible for Mountain Flying training, a person must:
- Hold a current FAA Medical Certificate
- Possess current Aircraft Liability Insurance
- Obtain a minimum of 125 hours total flight time
- Obtain a minimum of 3 take-offs and landings in the preceding 90 days
- Aircraft minimum of 180 HP without prior approval
